Everest Three Passes Trek -20 Days

Everest Three Passes Trek is an adventurous journey which provides an opportunity to cover to Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lakes and the most demanding passes in the Everest Region - Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,420m) and Renjo La (5,340m) at a time. From these three passes you can enjoy the spectacular views of Everest, Cho Oyo, Makalu, Amadablam, Lhotse and many more. Three passes trek in the Khumbu region also climbs the summit of Kalapatthar - one of the most sought after vantage point to enjoy the 360 degree panoramic views of above 8000m massifs including Everest. Along with introducing you with the landmarks of Everest Region, the Three Passes trek also enhances you to travel around the capital of legendary Sherpa People – Namche Bazaar.

Day 1
1 Hours

Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our airport representative. After the completion of immigration formalities, you will be transferred to your hotel. Depending on your choice, you can either visit our office site where you can meet your trekking guide or stroll around the streets of Thamel - a tourist hub in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2
4 Hours

Kathmandu - Lukla (2,800m) - Phakding (2,652m): 3 - 4 hrs
In the morning you board for a scenic mountain flight to Lukla - a gateway from where the trek begins. The scenic mountain flight about 35 minutes gives you a perfect sight of tremendous Himalayan Range. From Lukla, the trek begins passing through the stone paved trails towards Bhaisekharka and in due course gets in to Phakding. On the trail you come across plenty of prayer rocks. Overnight at Phakding

Day 3
5 Hours

Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3,440m): 5 hrs
Walking through a pine forest, the trail leads you along the Dudh Koshi River. While on the way you encounter with wonderful view of the glistening Mt. Thamserku (6618m). Passing through the settlement of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo, you reach at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. Next, the trail climbs through the forests and bridges to reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. Prior to reaching in Namche Bazaar, the trail pass through Jorsale Village and while on the trail you will have first sight of Mt. Everest. Overnight in Namche.

Day 4
3 Hours

Acclimatization Day
This will be the proper acclimatization day with some excursion around the landmarks of Namche Bazaar – the trading hub of Everest region. In the center of Namche you can visit the mountaineering museum and spend some quality time interacting with the fun-loving Sherpa. Next, you can visit to Sagarmatha National Park headquarter and the Tourist Visitor Centre as well. Beyond the centre of this Sherpa Capital, you can hike to the Everest View Hotel, the ideal place to overview some of the outstanding mountains such as Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse etc. Besides, you can walk around the Khumjung valley, Hillary School and climb up to the famous airstrip at Syangboche before returning back to Namche. Overnight in Namche.

Day 5
5 Hours

Namche Bazzar to Thame (3,800m): 4 - 5 hrs
At first the trail from Namche to Phorte, as usual, passes through river, ravine, forest, and ridge with some ups and downs. On the way you come across with Kongde Ri (6,187m), Khumbi Yul La (5,765m) and Kusum Kanguru (6,373m). Next, cross the Phorte Village to reach at a small town of Samde. The trail ahead waits you with a bridge over the Bhote Koshi River (3,650 m). Cross it and about a half hour climb brings you to Thame. Overnight at Thame.

Day 6
6 Hours

Thame to Marulung (4,210m): 5 - 6 hrs
With the views of beautiful peaks guarding Thame, your trek begins to reach the next destination – Marulung. The terrain from Thame to Marlung is alpine zone hence you enjoy relative peace during the walk. In the trail ahead you come across Tangmote Village, Yellajung Village, Bhote Koshi River and pass by the Tarngga village enjoying superb views of Kongde Ri. Eventually, the gradually rising trail brings you to Marlung. Overnight at Marulung.

Day 7
3 Hours

Marlung to Lungden (4,380m): 2 - 3 hrs
Today’s brief trek connects you with Lungden. While moving ahead, you have to climb a small but rising hill. Then the trial crosses a small water stream before getting you to Lungdeng. This short journey is helpful for you to get ready for next day’s demanding trek. Overnight at Lungden.

Day 8
9 Hours

Lungden – Renjo La Pass (5,340m) - Gokyo (4,800m): 8 - 9 hrs
You have to wake up early in the morning to conquest over Renjo La Pass. The top of Renjo La offers outstanding vistas of Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche. The Renjo La pass is also popular for incredible views of third Gokyo Lake, Gokyo Village, and Ngozumpa Glacier. The trail from Renjo La descends down to Ngozumpa Glacier and an easy walk on the glacier links you with Gokyo Village. Overnight at Gokyo.

Day 9
4 Hours

Rest day in Gokyo - Gokyo Ri (5,357m): 3 - 4 hrs
This acclimatization day is grasped as an opportunity to climb Gokyo Ri to enjoy the scenes from the best viewpoint of Everest Region or visit at simmering lakes of Gokyo Valley. Above the edge of 4th and 5th lakes, you can climb at Scoundrel's Viewpoint which is popular for offering panoramic views of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makulu. Northern part of the fifth lake provides fabulous views of Cho-Oyu Base Camp and the Ngazumpa Glacier. Besides if weather favors you can go upto 6th lake. At last come back to Gokyo village. Overnight at Gokyo.

Day 10
6 Hours

Gokyo to Thaknak (4,750): 5 - 6 hrs
The trail to Thaknak passes through a ridge near Gokyo, the Ngozumpa Glacier, and a mountain edge. During the descending journey, you can enjoy the magnificent views of Cho Oyu, Gokyo Ri, and other high Himalayas. Overnight at Thaknak .

Day 11
8 Hours

Thaknak - Cho La Pass - Dzongla (4,830m): 7 - 8 hrs
This will be another toughest day of the trip as you have to conquer over Cho La Pass. The pass is not itself difficult but it is steep and involves a glacier walk. Adding to this, the rocks on the vertical trail are glazed by ice. So you have to be careful on the slippery trail. Though the trail is difficult and demanding the summit of Cho La Pass rewards you with breathtaking view of Himalayan peaks in all directions. Next, still you need to pass through some crevasses to reach Dzongla - another beautiful place with a complete view of Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Lobuche peak and the Pheriche village far below. Overnight at Dzongla.

Day 12
5 Hours

Dzongla to Lobuche (4,940m): 4 - 5 hrs
Taka a relax breakfast and prepare a fantastic trek. This section of the trip is short and passes through grassy trial. The most important is you can enjoy soaring peaks like Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Lobuche, and looming Taboche. While enjoying these fabulous mountain peaks, the trail takes you to Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.

Day 13
7 Hours

Lobuche - Gorak Shep (5,170m) - Everest Base Camp (5,364m) - Gorak Shep: 7 hrs
The trail to Gorak Shep goes ahead through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. While moving ahead you can view the crest of north ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. As you reach Gorak Shep, you will find snow-capped mountains looming all around you including the top of the world. From Gorak Shep you head towards Everest Base Camp. The base camp of the top of the world greets you with the views of Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from here is also spectacular. Mt. Everest is not visible from the base camp. The experience of being at the foothill of world’s highest mountain cannot be expressed in words. Next, you trek down to Gorakshep. Overnight at Gorak Shep.

Day 14
8 Hours

Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar (5,545m) - Lobuche (4,940m): 8 hrs
Today’s journey starts early in the morning to get Kalapattar. This is the place from where you can see the tremendous view of Everest. Your dream will come true here. Most of morning of the day is spent climbing Mt. Kala Pattar, a small peak at 5545 meters. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8848 meters, towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. It will be a tremendous moment in your life that comes once in a lifetime. After taking photo shots of spectacular mountain massifs trek down to Lobuche

Day 15
7 Hours

Lobuche - Kongma La Pass – Chhukung (4,730m): 6 - 7 hrs
This section of the trip is quite demanding as you have to conquer over Kongma La Pass. Begin the trek passing through Khumbu Glacier and climbing up to reach Kongma La. The high pass invites you to enjoy the marvellous views of Cholatse, Pokalde, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu and Ama Dablam. Then the stony trail leads you down to the Niyang Khola valley. Prior to reaching at Chhukung, you can capture the great views of Amphu Lapcha Pass and Island Peak. Chhukung is also the starting point for the Island Peak Climbing. Overnight at Chhukung.

Day 16
6 Hours

Chhukung to Tengboche (3,860m): 5 - 6 hrs
This section of the trip connects Chhukung with Pangboche and Pangboche with Tengboche.  The trail from Chhukung to Pangboche introduces you with the signs of age-old Himalayan Civilization developed in such high altitude. Explore a famous monastery at Pangboche believed to have been the oldest in the Khumbu region before heading towards Tengboche. At Tengboche visit the famous Tengboche Monastery. Tengboche is also recognized for breathless photogenic views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse (8,501m), Kwangde (6,187m), Tawachee (6,542m), Ama Dablan, Kantega and Thamserku. Overnight at Tengboche.

Day 17
6 Hours

Tengboche to Namche Bazzar: 5 - 6 hrs
The steep descent trail in the company of impressive mountains views and forests leads you back along the Dudh Kosi River. While on the trail you can keep a lookout for wild life such as mountain goats, snow leopards, colorful pheasants, etc. After crossing a Chorten, you reach at the Army Camp of Namche Bazaar. From here, you can take a long last look back to Lhotse, the tip of Everest and Tengboche. Overnight at Namche

Day 18
6 Hours

Namche Bazzar - Lukla: 6 hrs
Even if you are trekking in the same trail, you feel traveling in the complete different landscapes. The retreat journey passes through rhododendron and pine forests enjoying snow covered peaks in the distance. Adding to this you walk through the Sherpa villages' noticing impressive faith in Buddhism and culture of prayer stones and prayers flags. It will be the day of accomplishment of trekking section of this adventure. Overnight at Lukla

Day 19

Fly Back to Kathmandu
The short and scenic flight makes you feel nostalgic because of the glimpses of snowy mountains. On arrival in Kathmandu you will be transferred back to your hotel where you can take rest or may stroll around the streets of Thamel for souvenir shopping or may explore around popular tourist attractions nearby.

Day 20

Departure from Nepal
Everest Three Passes Trek comes to an end today. Before 3 hours of scheduled flight, Himalayan Pleasure's airport representatives will take you to airport. On your way to home, we hope, you will have plenty of time to plan your next adventure trip in the Himalayas. Or you can extend your Nepal stay for few more days.

          • The date on which the request to cancel is received by the Company will determine the cancellation charge applicable.
          • The cancellation fees excluding insurance are expressed hereafter:
            • 60 days or more before departure      : Loss of deposit
            • 59-21 days before departure               : 50% of cost of services booked
            • Less than 21 days before departure  : 100% of cost of services booked
