OVERVIEW

Helambu Trekking is absolutely amazing short trek to explore beautiful villages enrich with ancient culture and superb panoramic view of high himalaya.  you will be walking through friendly traditional hill villages in the land of Hyalmo and Tamangs.

The view of the mountains can be seen in far horizon including Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) 08th highest Mt. Manaslu at 8,163 m-26,781 ft, Ganesh Himal (7,405 m-24,295 ft) in the western horizon and the central Langtang Lirung (7,234 m-23,734 ft) Ghengu Liru(Langtang II 6571m / 21,558ft), Kimshun (6,745m/22,129 ft). Beyond it extends to Jugal Himal, terminating in Dorje Lakpa (6,980m/22,900ft), There is a massive mountains toward east Gaurishanker and Melungtse.

This fabulous journey starts from Sundarijal north east of Kathmandu valley and through the villages with varieties of landscape, native people with their life style and tradition. There are also beautiful forest of rhododendron, oaks, pines and fir tree and wildlife. This beautiful cultural trekking comes to concludes at Melamchepul bazaar in the warm sub tropical climate area for a scenic drive back to Kathmandu.


ITINERARY
Day 1
2 Hours

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Our representative will come to the airport for transfer to the Hotel. After some refreshment in the hotel, Our Tour leader will conduct a pre departure meeting in the Hotel or at our office. The meeting will covers trip related information & the collecting your Documents (passport copy, 2 passport size photos, Travel insurance copy).


Day 2
4 Hours

Kathmandu: Free day for Trek preparation

Breakfast, free day for trek preparation. You can do your own activities OR, you can do sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley with visiting fascinating world heritage and cultural sites. There are few places that are worth to visit such as Hindus holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Durbar Squire ( One is in Kathmandu, in patan and also in Bhaktapur), Museum,  monasteries, old historical Palaces and Gardens. Note:  this tour is optional so you can visit with place of your interest & pay locally. Meals included: Breakfast


Day 3
4 Hours

Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani (2,300 m-7,545 ft) – 04hrs.

We start driving towards east suburb of Kathmandu valley at Sundarijal located at a distance of 15 k.m, we start ascending with passing many small villages, beautiful waterfalls to reach at an entrance of Shivapuri National Park. We begins ascending through forest of rhododendron, pines and oaks trees and into scattered farm fields and villages reaching at a ridge top in Chisopani, where the air is cooler situated 2,300 meters high overlooking grand vista from Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal towards Jugal Himal range.


Day 4
5 Hours

Trek to Gulbhanjyang (2,125 m-6,971 ft) – 05 hrs.

After a marvelous time with stunning sunrise over range of mountains, we start on a downhill trail to a nice neat village at Pati Bhanjyang a Hindu Brahman and Chhetris area, hiking continues with a gentle uphill climb for an hour then on the gradual trail through the forest and hamlets reaching at Gulbhanjyang for overnight. 


Day 5
4 Hours

Trek to Kutumsang (2,446 m-8,024 ft) – 04 hrs.

It is an short walking day to Kutumsang, We start with ascending and then on the downhill to another popular village of Chipplin, from here walk continues passing many small farm villages overlooking grand views of surrounding green landscapes and rolling hills all the way to Kutumsang for overnight. There are nice villages of Sherpa, Hylamo and Tamang tribe with excellent views of surrounding.


Day 6
5 Hours

Trek to Thadepati (3, 597 m-11,801 ft) – 05 hrs.

we start with ascending to Yurin Danda ridge through pristine rhododendron, pines and oak forested area to a small pass at 3,510 meters high, and then a short descend to reach a wide open meadow with grazing pasture area with an army post and few small shops and tea houses, from here we continue our journey to reach Thadepati for lunch and overnight. Thadepati, a small village with lodge standing high at 3,597 meters, the highest spot of this journey with grand vista of rolling green hills, beautiful landscapes, array of peaks from Ganesh, Langtang to Jugal mountain range.


Day 7
8 Hours

Trek to Tarke Gyang (2,590 m-8,497 ft) – 08 hours.

We start walking on a downhill path through thick cool forest of rhododendron, hemlocks, firs and pines tree lines. Walk carry’s on passing several Sheppard’s huts with temporary shelter and then slowly walk leads to a small fresh stream Melamchi Khola, crossing the river and then a gentle trail to reach Melamche Goan, after lunch here, we will continue our journey to reach in the heart of Helambu area,  Tarke Gyang. We descend all the way to river and crossing suspension bridge, from where we will be ascending to Tarkeghyang village via Nakote village. Tarkegyang, a famous charming village with inhabitants of Sherpa and Tamang people, this area is also famous for delicious green apples and intricate wood carving. We can explore this lovely village and the old Buddhist monasteries called Ama Yangri perched in the village.


Day 8
4 Hours

Trek to Sermathang (2,610 m-8,562 ft) – 04 hours.

After an enjoyable time in Tarkgyang, We begin gradual winding path through small patch of wood lands and many hamlets and shelters of cattle herders, journey continues losing altitude on the downhill trail, through nice cool forest and then passing many Buddhist monuments, chortens reaching at Gangyul, a small farm village, walk carries on with fabulous views of rolling hills to reach at Shermathang for overnight.


Day 9
7 Hours

Trek to Malemchepul Bazaar, drive to Kathmandu – 07 hrs

After a wonderful time in the high hills, valley with picturesque scenery, today, we will be walking downhill to concludes trekking at Malemchepul Bazaar and will drive to Kathmandu. Farewell Dinner in the Evening.


Day 10
2 Hours

Departure.

Breakfast, transfer to Tribhuvan International airport for departing from Nepal.

CANCELLATION

    Free cancellation up to 50 days prior departure, 50% of deposit will be refunds 30 days prior to departure after which the deposit becomes non-refundable.
