Langtang Trekking

This Magnificent Langtang Trekking is one of the famous and superb trekking destination of Nepal Himalaya, encircled by giant snowcapped peaks. This trek is not only famous for its stunning landscape, it is also famous for friendly people and unique traditional of Tamang, Hyalmo and Bhotia.

Hiking into Tsergo Ri in Langtang Trekking offers grandeur views of Annapurna I (8,091 m-26,545 ft) Annapurna South (7,219 m-23,684 ft), 08th highest Mt. Manaslu at (8,163 m-26,781 ft), Ganesh Himal (7,405 m-24,294 ft), Langtang Lirung (7,234 m-23,733 ft), Ghengu Liru (Langtang II (6571 m-21,558ft), Kimshun (6,745 m-22,129 ft), and Shalbachum (6,918 m-22,697ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga (5,846 m-19,180 ft) and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak. Beyond it extends to the Jugal Himal, terminating in Dorje Lakpa (6,980 m-22,900 ft). There is a massive mountain wall in the east corner, forming the frontier with world’s last 14th highest MT. Shishapangma (8,013 m-26,289 ft) in Tibet.

Langtang Trekking starts at picturesque Syabrubesi We start hiking through the deep valley and enchanting forest of rhododendron, oaks, pines and fir tree lines which is home for Red Panda and other rare wildlife. There are few beautiful villages inhabited by Tamang tribes, traditionally a farmer and cattle herders and renown as guides, porters and mountaineers as well Gorkha soldiers.

We have beautiful landscape opening the wider view of the valley and mountains after Ghoda tabala and hike into the langtang village which was sadly collapsed from avalanche after the massive earth quick in 2015. We follow the valley to reach Kyanjin Gompa located in the magnificent Valley which is surrounded by tall mountains. This area was first explored and pioneered by Tilman in the early 1950’s AD.We do hike into the Tsergo Ri which is nearly 5000m to see the stunning mountains view of the high Himalaya, glaciers and landscape.

After a marvelous time in the high hills and valley, we will be hiking back to Syabrubesi and scenic drive to Kathmandu.

Day 1
2 Hours

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Our representative will come to the airport for transfer to the Hotel. After some refreshment in the hotel, Our Tour leader will conduct a pre departure meeting in the Hotel or at our office. The meeting will covers trip related information & the collecting your Documents (passport copy, 2 passport size photos, Travel insurance copy).

Day 2

Kathmandu: Free day for Trek preparation

Breakfast, free day for trek preparation. You can do your own activities OR, you can do sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley with visiting fascinating world heritage and cultural sites. There are few places that are worth to visit such as Hindus holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Durbar Squire ( One is in Kathmandu, in patan and also in Bhaktapur), Museum,  monasteries, old historical Palaces and Gardens. Note:  this tour is optional so you can visit with place of your interest & pay locally. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 3
7 Hours

Drive to Syabrubesi (1,460 m-4,790 ft) – 07 hours.

We start after the breakfast, scenic drive by Jeep through rural towns and farm villages on the winding hilly road to Trisuli Bazaar. We start ascending after here and reach entrance of Langtang National Park in Dhunche 1,965 m high which is headquarter of Rasuwa district. We will continue driving and process to each Syabrubesi village.

Day 4
6 Hours

Trek to Lama Hotel (2,430 m-7,972 ft) - 06 hours.

We begin hiking from here with crossing bridge over upper Trisuli River, and then gentle uphill trail through forest and river valley to reach Bamboo. After nice break continue walk with the last uphill through cool shade of forest with rhododendron, oaks and pines trees and enter a river gorge to reach Lama Hotel in the middle of forest for overnight.

Day 5
6 Hours

Trek to Langtang village (3,430 m-11,253 ft) – 06 hours.

Temperature is cooler in the shade of the forest. Spot the rare and elusive Red Panda and other wildlife. Walk starts by following the river valley with thick forest, then passing a few small settlements to reach a nice place at Ghoretabla meaning “Horse-Stable”. In the early days this was a horse breeding area. The horses are of Tibetan pony breed, smaller but strong and sure footed to survive on high terrain and altitude. After a nice break and lunch, We hike to Langtang village which is a lovely village with the inhabitant of Bhotia’s and Tamang people, native of Langtang area settled here for hundreds years however Langtang villages was badly destroyed by the avalanche after the earthquake in 2015, so we need to walk little further into new locality of Langtang village.

Day 6
3 Hours

Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3, 749 m-12,300 ft) – 03 hours.

It is an easy hiking day to Kyanjin Gompa, We start with gentle uphill and once enter a side path then valley opens up with awesome views of surrounding landscapes with snow capped mountains looking towards Dorji Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Tsego ri, Langshsisa and Naya Kanga peak.

This magnificent place is named after a small run down old Gompa (monastery) and is truly a beautiful spot. In the afternoon explore the surrounding or hike into the hills just above Kanjin Gompa. There is also a Yak Cheese Factory explore which was established 30 years ago with Swiss support.

Day 7
8 Hours

Kyanjin Gompa, Day Excursion to Tsergo Ri – 08 hours.

We have a long adventurious day to go to Tsergo Ri (5,033 m-16,512 ft) that offers spectacular views of surrounding mountains at close distance. Enjoy the great panorama of Chimsedang Lekh and the Kangjal Himal, a ridge of peaks bordering the valley to the south, Naya Kanga (5,844 m-19,173 ft) and stunning views of the great mountains flanking the Langtang valley, including Ganchenpo (6,387 m-20,955 ft), Dorje Lakpa (6,990 m-22,933 ft), Pemthang Karpo Ri (6,830 m-22,408 ft), Langtang Lirung (7,245 m-23,770 ft) and across the northern boundary in Tibet see the massive Shishapangma (8,046 m-26,398 ft), which is 14th world’s highest mountain, We return back the same way to Kanjin Gompa for overnight.

Day 8
6 Hours

Trek to Lama Hotel – 06 hrs.

After an enjoyable time in Kyanjin and Langtang valley, We start our return journey with descending to Langtang village and Ghoretablea following the Langtang Khola through cool shade of a forest to reach Lama Hotel for overnight.

Day 9
5 Hours

Trek to Syabrubesi (1460 m-4,790 ft) – 05 hrs.

From Lama Hotel, make the return journey via an alternative route with nice views before reaching to Syabrubesi village.

Day 10
7 Hours

Drive back to Kathmandu – 07 hrs.

With having great experience and enjoyable time during the trekking, we have an interesting drive back to Kathmandu by Private Jeep.

Day 11

Breakfast, transfer to Tribhuvan International airport for departing from Nepal.
