Kathmandu UNNESCO World Heritage Site Tour

After tea breakfast, the World Heritage site tour commences from your hotel. The morning short drive takes you towards Swayambhunath – a Buddhist stupa dates back to 2000 years. The timeless stupa is also recognized as Monkey Temple. The moment you reach the at the sacred site at first you can see the colorful fluttering prayer flags, the monks and the devotees spinning the prayer wheels and the monkeys playing around the stupa. Apart from exploring the in-depth of the spiritual site, you can also stroll around the Hindu temples scattered at the sacred site.

Basantapur Durbar Square

After exploring the Buddhist shrine, the tour moves ahead toward the heart of Kathmandu city where you visit at Basantapur Durbar Square which is also recognized as Hanuman Dhoka or Kathmandu Darbar. The historical palace of Nepal dates backs to 9th or 10th century at the time of king Gunakama Dev. Before entering into the former royal palace of Nepal, you can explore the surrounding temples dating back from 15th to 18 centuries. The top attractions of the surrounding area of the palace square are Kastamandap shrine, temple of living goddess of Nepal – Kumari. In the second place you will enter into the former lavish royal palace of Nepal. Nowadays the palace is used as museum. Inside the museums, you can explore particularly the valuable historical objects related to former royal family of Nepal. 


After taking lunch break, the trip continues towards sacred Pasupatinath temple at the bank holy of Bagmati River. The sacred site dates backs to 5th to 6th century. The Pasupatnath temple is one of most popular and important Shiva shrines and must come a temple for the Hinduism followers throughout the world once in their lifetime. Here, Pasupatinath refers to the lord of all creatures and revered as the god of gods. The holy temple is almost all the time packed Hindu devotes and non-Hindus are not allowed to enter through the main entrance of the temple but still can view the two storage pagoda style temple from the eastern side. Apart from Pasupatinath temple, numerous other temples scattered around the holy site, Bagmati River, Shadu-Babas, and Aryaghat magnetically grab your attention at the site.


The final destination of the sightseeing tour is Bouddhanath - the biggest stupa in Asia and must come sacred site for the Buddhists once in their lifetime. In addition to the sight of the massive stupa, you can also stroll around the large of numbers of monasteries around Boudhhanath. The sacred area you are visiting looks like mini Tibet so you find huge number of Tibetan Buddhists. The large numbers of Buddhist monasteries within the sacred site provide a favorable space for learning Buddhism and site itself is a huge center of spiritual learning.
