Kili base cycling tours

Cycling and explore around the base of Mt Kilimanjaro.

Day 1

Marangu - Kombo 
Along the slopes of Kilimanjaro’s, we pass through vegetation-rich territory to Moshi. We cross the outskirts and drive upwards towards Machame. Our day trip is a campground in the banana plantations near Kombos Distances: 62 km, altitude gain 1300 m Overnight stay: tent 

Day 2

Kombo – Sanya Juu
It continues along the volcano through wide and deep river streams. We are in a very fertile area with countless small farms. Later we arrive in deeper plains, where the mountain slopes merge with the plain. Distances: 32 km, altitude gain 600 m Overnight stay: tent or House of Westkili Lodge 

Day 3

Sanya Juu – Kambi ya Tembo
Today we drive into the steppe and meet the Masai for the first time. Probably the best-known ethnic group in East Africa lives in the vast plains in the south of Kenya and in the north of Tanzania. The Maasai remained faithful to their ancient traditions. Examples of this are the semi-nomadic way of life and their striking clothes. With some luck, we meet giraffes or zebras in the afternoon. Distances: 70 km, altitude gain 650 m Overnight stay: tent or Kambi ya Tembo Lodge 

Day 4

Kambi ya Tembo – Kamwanga
Through hilly Massailand we drive to Kamwanga, a small village at the northern foot of Kilimanjaro. We enjoy a fantastic view of Amboseli National Park in Kenya and the northern slopes of Kilimanjaro. We camp at a schoolhouse, which is located just outside the village. Distances: 45 km, altitude gain 1100 m Overnight stay: tent in Kawanga 

Day 5

Kamwanga – Lake Chala
We leave the Masai steppe and reach the vegetation-rich east side of the Kili. Fields and cedar forests are our temporary companions. On the Tanzanian / Kenyan border, we are now heading slightly downhill. Only a few river valleys of the Kilimanjaro provide short, mostly steep gradients. Our camp is located on the beautiful Lake Chala, a crater lake with crystal clear water, which invites to a bath. Distances: 88 km, altitude gain 600 m Overnight stay: tent at Lake Chala

Day 6
1 Hours
Lake Chala – Marangu
Today we are already tackling our last bike stage. First, we drive about 15 km up until we arrive on a wide road. We follow this dirt road and enjoy the ride through the lush green vegetation. Beside us are many locals with simple bicycles or on the road. After another 15km we reach the village of Marangu. Distances: 30 km, altitude gain 700 m Overnight stay: tent

    The price will include All Three meals, Water,support vehicle, All camping gears like Tents and matress ,Cook, Tour guide and driver, Mountain bike and helmets ,All camping fees, entry and village fees
    :Tip ($20 for the guide and $10 for the cook)
    Cancellation policy: Any cancellation prior to 60 days of the tour will be refunded all moneys paid less a $300 handling fee per person. Any cancellation between 30 and 60 days before the tour will forfeit their deposit. Any cancellations less than 30 days before the tour will forfeit the full price of the tour. We must adhere to our cancellation policy to protect our ability to run tours and to maintain our price structures.
    Cancellation & Refund Policy: All cancellations are subject to a $300 administrative/cancellation fee per person. The remainder of your payment is refundable up to 30 days prior to departure. No refunds of any kind will be made for any reason after this deadline, including, but not limited to, acts of terrorism and war, weather, natural disaster as well as family or personal emergencies. There is no refund for leaving a trip early or arriving late. Tours are not transferable from one person to another. No tour switches are permitted less than 60 days prior to your scheduled departure. There are no exceptions for any reason.
